Johnson Slams Door on Congress Returning for Disaster Aid - This is the Quality of Leadership we get because the Russian Mafia has seized partial control of our House GOP

President Biden traveled to Florida to check on Floridians in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Governor DeSantis didn't bother to respond to the President's request to meet to discuss the damage and the best way to help Floridians recover. President Biden pledged $612 million to strengthen the grid in areas affected by the hurricanes. Floridians held up signs asking our President, Floridian Mayors and their Governor for help. Representative Anna Paulina Luna and Senator Rick Scott met with our President. They are professional politicians who care about the citizens in their state and aren't trying to make brownie points with the Russian Mafia's preferred GOP presidential candidate.
I've no idea what Speaker Johnson is doing less than four weeks before the election. Apparently he thinks he and the Republican party have got the election, the Senate and the House in the bag if the House can't be bothered to return to Washington early to help people who've endured back-to-back hurricanes get on their feet. Imagine the dysfunction that awaits us if we let the Russian Mafia seat their preferred GOP presidential candidate, who our intelligence agencies have told us is Donald Trump. Remember his subpar handling of covid. We're experiencing major climate catastrophe-related emergencies on a nearly monthly basis.
